Choosing a Paver Pedestal System
A pedestal paver system is the adjustable structure that makes a rooftop deck possible: it lifts pavers, wood tiles, or turf off the roof membrane, levels the surface over the roof's drainage slope, and protects the waterproofing underneath. Nothing penetrates the membrane, water drains freely through the open joints and away below the deck, and any paver lifts out in seconds for roof access. That combination, level surface above, working roof below, is why pedestals are the standard for rooftop amenity decks.

Pedestal System Questions
What is a pedestal paver system?
An adjustable support structure that elevates rooftop pavers above the membrane. It levels the deck over the roof's drainage slope, lets water drain freely underneath, protects the waterproofing, and keeps every paver removable for roof access.
How do I know what pedestal heights I need?

Screw-jack or stackable, which is right?
Screw-jack pedestals give fine, continuous height adjustment and are the default for most decks. Stackable systems suit deep, consistent build heights. Many projects use both across different zones of the same roof.
Do pedestals damage the roof membrane?
No. The system is loose-laid: nothing is fastened or adhered to the membrane, pedestals sit on protective bases, and the deck can be lifted at any time for inspection or roof repair.
What about wind on exposed rooftops?
